THE COWARDS OF OZ

Had it not been for the gracious and sporting support of a majority of Australian cricket lovers towards the Indian Cricket team, I would have attempted to trace the lineage of several of the Aussie cricketers to Botany Bay and the Freemantle Prison. While the cricketing prowess of the Aussies without any doubt is exceptional, the same cannot be said about their on-field behaviour.Having steam-rollered most cricket playing countries in tests and one-dayers, the Aussies had inflated their egos to such an extent that sledging and using abusive language on field seemed to be their birthright. In the second test at Sydney when things went awry after the Indian first innings lead, despite dubious decisions by the umpire, the Aussies resorted to what they do best - heckling, sledging and the works. A pity and a shame, considering the talent that they have in their team.
