LEAKAGE OF OFFICIAL SECRETS IN THE MEDIA

It is surprising to watch anchors of reputed English Tv Channels in the country often pulling out highly classified official documents and zooming in the camera for a better glimpse by the audience. Many of such documents deal with terrorism and our neighbours and surely could not have been de-classified.They would be having their sources in the corridors of power no doubt, but what about the 'official Secrets Act'? Why is this leak happening on a regular basis and why are their no eyebrows raised?

Mehbooba Mufti's Snatch!

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!" It was a strange sight to see Mehbooba Mufti wrenching out the microphone from the Speaker's podium in the J&K assembly after the speaker directed his guards to turn her out of the house. Her stance is that she was not allowed to debate the Shopian imbroglio, whereas the other political parties were permitted to raise questions in the house. Whether the Speaker was justified in his stance or not is a seperate question. What is more important is the maintenance of decorum in the house for which Mehbooba Mufti stands guilty. This was not the first incident of this kind and I guess this will not be the last! The question is who will stop all this and when?

POLITICS OVER KARGIL- SHAME!

On the tenth anniversary of the Kargil war, when the nation remembers the brave sacrifices of our fallen heroes, the political parties are engaged in dirty politics to score brownie points. Watching their spokespersons on TV trading charges against each other, when they should be paying homage to the martyrs.is pitiable. Even more irritating are the vacuous remarks made publicly without an iota of sensibility to the families of the departed at least.Get real! Leave the Armed Forces of the county alone. They will still rise up to meet future challenges - IN SPITE OF YOU!!!

US FORCES EUMA ON INDIA

India which has signed the End User Agreement with the US raises big questions. Was India coerced into singing the agreement? Has India's non-proliferation foreign policy been undermined? If so, why was the parliament and the people not taken into confidence? With its majority in the Parliament, does the govt have an absolute free hand to take decisions arbitrarily. Will be waiting for the answers to come.

BALOCHISTAN BLUES

What went wrong? Why is there no credible explanation of 'Balochistan' creeping into the joint statement between India and Pakistan at Sharm el Sheikh? What were the Indian diplomats drafting the declaration doing? Was the Foreign Minister involved in the process? Was the Prime Minister briefed about the implications of the 'B word' being included in the draft. The govt and Congress Party need to tender explanations to the country fast!
