LADY FROM LARKANA

The world was witness to a mindless plolitical killing in Pakistan when one of their tallest leader Mrs. Benazir Bhutto was gunned down by unknown assailants.President Parvez Musharraf lost no time in informing the world that it was an act of a jehadi group affiliated to the Al Quaeda , which in turn denied this accusation. He also is supposed to have doctered the medical findings and proclaimed that Mrs. Bhutto did not die of gunshot injuries but as a result of concussion. Eye witnesses state otherwise. Mrs. Benazir's party the PPP has asked for an international inquiry to the incident.

THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF INDIA

The President of the Republic of India is to be chosen once again by an electoral college comprising the MPs and MLAs of this country. The President's post has been associated with honour and dignity considering the high office that he/she holds. Alas! what one sees is a lot of muck being raked by all political parties in the country to foist their own choice candidate. Foremost among these are the Left parties, who by now have become adept at putting a spoke in every wheel so that their political agenda is in comformity with archaic communist ideologies. This has forced the ruling UPA to nominate a woman candidate, who is inconsequential, to be nominated for the post Of President. The opposition BJP similarly has been made to select one of their own stalwarts, as an independent candidate! The UPA stinks.

CORRUPT POLITICIANS

The shocking story of a Indian MP, being apprehended in the act of illegal trafficking of humans at an airport displays the rotten core of our politicians and our political system. It does not matter which party the concerned individual belongs to, as indulging in criminal activities has become the prerogative of politicians of all hues.
The bigger question is - How long, do we suffer them?

BCCI & CRICKET

The cricketers, manager, advertisors and selectors have been at the receiving end of the BCCI's ire after the world Cup debacle. Even the spectators have not been spared, as they were supposed to have raised expectations to a feverish pitch. But has a single head rolled in the BCCI ? Has a single apology come from its hallowed members? Is this cricket?

VIRGINIA TECH UNIVERSITY CAMPUS MASSACRE

If this sordid massacre doesn not awake the US Government from its slumber in curbing free sale of weapons in their country, such events will hit the headlines oftener. 'GUNS DO NOT KILL!' an explanation being forwarded by the NRA and their cohorts, to say the least, is childish, and does not by any means divert attention from their main motive - lucre.
